Standardized Test Score Letter

I amy going to apply RD to Emory and I recently sent in my test scores. The other day I recieved a letter in the mail saying:

"Thank you for the interest you have shown in Emory University by having your standardized test results sent to us. Your self-reported class performance and test scores indicate that you are probably the kind of student who has traditionally enrolled in Emory and done well."

Is this an indication that I might have a good chance of getting in or is it simply a "thanks for sending us your scores" letter?

Well what were your scores?

My ACT was a 32. And my SAT IIs were MathIC- 730 and USH- 640.

I think they send that letter to most students who have shown interest that are reasonably close to their range (i.e. they may send that letter to everyone whose scores they receive that are higher than a 28). But, yes your ACT score is pretty good for Emory, as it is within their range (probably lke 60th percentile or so).

I didn't get a letter and I did pretty well on my sat's. Emory is my first choice too. :(

Don't worry, the letter means jack squat. I know people who have gotten similar (or even more convincing) letters only to have gotten rejected/deferred
