So I have a three questions on standardized testing...

1) Does the percentile matter at all for SAT II subject tests? I know that for tests like the SAT II Chinese, Math IIC, and Physics, an 800 is still a relatively low percentile, while on a test like the Literature SAT II, an 800 is 99th percentile. Do colleges care about the percentile, or only the score? I was under the impression that any score that is 750+ is acceptable/good for top tier colleges, and that there's actually not that big a difference between 750-ish to 800 unless somebody has a string of 800s. But on some of these tests even a 750+ is a low percentile. I guess it's understandable because the group of students that take each test is a self selected one, but nonetheless, does anybody know the answer to this question?

2) And... is it true that the ACT is less impressive than the SAT, despite the fact that many colleges say that they treat the ACT and SAT equally? I don't know if this is a general trend, but I heard that many people who didn't do that well on the SATs did better (when you use the score conversion thing) on the ACT, even without preparation.

3) Lastly, do colleges care about SAT I Writing or not? I have been hearing so many mixed messages about this.

Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it!
