Standardized Testing Scores

From the beginning, my test scores have been borderline for the elite schools like Columbia.

I scored a 2040 on my first and only regular SAT in May and a 31 on the ACT plus Writing in April. I got my SAT subject scores back today and I scored much lower than I expected. 610 in Biology E and 660 in Math II.

I've read that Columbia accepts either the SAT with subject tests OR just the ACT. I've also seen that they'll take the ACT with subject tests, or the SAT, SAT II, and ACT.

What scores should I send in? Should I retake anything?

It depends on what you’re majoring in. You should probably retake those SAT IIs if you’re planning on sending them, but the ACT is pretty much equivalent to your SAT score, so unless you’re majoring in biology or something math related, I see little reason to send those SAT II scores.

"Should I retake anything? " If you suspect you can improve on ACT, why wouldn’ t you?
