So, i am going to need to take the SAT II's as a standby taker in December, and my question is as follows: will someone NEED to cancel for me to get a spot, or does the test center usually get an extra booklet or two (which a standby take could use). On the phone, the collegeboard said that a few extra tests would be sent to the test station, but they only said that there is "a chance" that even one standby taker would be able to take the test. At my test center, i highly doubt that anyone will miss the test, so should I drive the extra hour to the next closest center? Also--I am 100% sure that I would be the first standby taker in line. Thanks.

they always have about 30 spots for sat 2 standbys and 15 or so for sat 1, so ppl dont drop they create special rooms for u

So the answer is yes, they ndo have extras even if nobody drops? So I would be basically guarenteed a spot if i was first in line?
