Congratulations Bourne!

Dear goldhamster and others, thank you for your kind words!

Gratz to you too.

Condolences for everyone else…

Aneece, guess we’re in the same boat, floating in Limno till the clock strikes end-of-June… Mind sharing your info? If you’ve applied to GS that means you’re either an adult student or have taken time off after HS. (I’m familiar, yes.)

can anyone post a copy of their rejection letter. i want to see if it is the same stock rejection everyone got, including me.

Hello Maya, oh fellow wayfarer. Let’s spend the next month and a half picking apart our flaws in search of that one imperfection that kept us out.

Here are my stats, although I feel like this sort of thing ought to be reserved for the Bournes and Muhsans of the world, but here goes…

Attention all future Stanford transfer applicants. If you want to get in you must do better than this:

I am attending City College of San Francisco. I am a Physics major.

GPA 4.0
SAT I 2320
Verbal 800
Math 800
Writing 720 with a 9! on the essay. This is why I didn’t get in. I know it.
SAT II’s
Math IIC 780
Physics 800

My recommendations were stellar. My essays were respectable.
EC’s
I tutor Chemistry and Physics at my school for EOPS, which serves disadvantaged students…really.

Physics club founding member and Treasurer.

HS GPA… ~2.1 Twelve years ago. Actually, this is why I wasn’t admitted.

I will attend Columbia GS.

I was also accepted to Amherst and all the UC’s.
Rejected by Cornell, Chicago, and Harvard.

Sorry for drawing attention to myself, Bourne and Muhsan.

Taking attention from us? Not at all.

Condolences again.

Bourne would you mind posting your stats, please? It might me feel better to see yours were superior to mine and that’s why I didn’t get in. ;-))

Btw guys, even though I was right about the decision notice date (none of you believed me), it feels pretty lousy being right. haha. A big congratulations to you Bourne and Muhsan!! Good on you.

Could any precocious researcher supply a link to info, on the boards or the interwebs, about how many students were taken off the waitlist over the last few years?

Waitlisted?..I am also wondering how many students are typically admitted from the waitlist

Peace and blessings to all. I just received my letter of admittance by email. I attend Long Beach City College, and I’m the first person to transfer to Stanford from this school. God is good. I’m so excited! Keep dreaming, and do not let anyone convince you that miracles do not happen.

Did anyone not from a community college get in?

bourne,
i thought you earlier said you were rejected.

rejected
