yeah I’m male. This reason I asked is because every time we played a gender guessing game on this forum, I’ve been wrong (or at least wrong the majority of the time) so this makes me feel better!

@mfed
we are supposedly not the biggest graduating class to apply to college. I hear that the class of 2009 was supposed to be the peak in the number of kids applying to college, but I heard that word of mouth so it’s probably incorrect.

So I just looked at the previous pages about course rigor at Stanford…

All I want to say is that I’m just worried about getting in right now. If I somehow manage to pull that off, then I’m sure I can handle the work. And I think the same goes for everyone else. :)

My school isn’t crazy competitive when it comes to sending kids to Ivies/Stanford…only one got into an Ivy last year, and he was a freaking math genius. But a lot of kids seem to be applying this year, even if most of them are of the “I’m just applying for fun; I know I’m not going to get in” mindset.

jony, I heard the same thing, so I think you’re right. Still though, Stanford SCEA applications went up 4%…

wow i just made like the coolest typo ever:

dont give it any sextra thought…

new goal for tomorrow: use that word in conversation

New Goal For Tomorrow: Make Tuesday come on Thursday.

@ jaywhy. that’s good logic. what, should I start disabling gmail previewing now? :(

Well while Nitro gives some sextra thought on the possible date we get our decisions back, I think I’m going to focus on something other than Stanford like that cardinal I saw at the zoo, oh wait the cardinal is Stanford’s…NO! I can’t get Stanford out of my head.

I got to go Good Night Guys! And since I wouldn’t want Anon’s characterization of me to be wrong, Love you Anon!

Haha, Diivio, I’m in the same predicament! Every thought somehow leads back to Stanford.

@jony you are right last year’s hs seniors were the peak but it won’t make a recognizable difference for 3 to 4 more years

Wait, Diivio, when have I ever tried to characterize you? But good night.

WOW this thread moves fast!
Also, sorry to break it to you Nitro, but “sextra” is already in common use at my school. As is “saxtra”, for the band geeks. Hahahaha

(belated good night, Diivio)

No way! Diivio guessed someones gender!?!?!? Man, this is a big step forward for you.

Yeah, I know. I was surprised as well. It’s okay though because he still has like a 1 for 1449754 record :)

^ almost like the stanford acceptance rate hahahaha

One of those losses might have been calling Prussia a man, though. We all know that’s basically true. Sorry Prussia, I had to. And you said it yourself.

My mind is slowly degenerating

In Statistics, I read Standard Deviation as Stanford Deviation

And in lunch, I read Cardinal Popcorn instead of Caramel Popcorn

AHHHAHAHAH!!!

Wow, I need to stop doing homework. Ten pages, guys? Really? Oh, well, time to catch up…

Religion: I’m an atheist. Here in the Bay Area, most people are atheists, agnostics, or just non-religious, but we still have our local evangelical mega-church. And the Mormons, of course. We love our Mormons. :P

jony: I love Girl Talk! He can’t measure up to Danger Mouse, in my humble opinion, but I still love his music.

applicannot: I definitely go to a sub-par high school (most years we have no one accepted anywhere higher than the UCs), but I try not to think about the difficulty of Stanford’s course load. Honestly, I’ve never really had to try at my school, because the standards are so low, so I’m a little excited to be challenged.

mfed: You can just have the shirt, if you want. The only time I’ve ever worn it was when we went to the (State) Capitol, which happened to be right in the middle of the ridiculous impeachment scandal. It doesn’t mean anything to me. :P

Anon: On the day of admission, I will be sitting at home while my sister is at off-season swim practice, which I will be skipping. I will have just finished my AP Psych final (psychoanalysis of the Grinch!) and probably should be starting on my reading journal for English, which will be due in two days, but I’ll ignore it. Instead, I will sit in front of my computer, refreshing my email again and again while trying to keep up with the inevitable flurry of posts on this thread. Once I get the decision, I will text one of my good friends who I promised to tell first, then inform my family, then update my Facebook status… Then probably text my romantic interest to see if he is available, so I can get my frustrations out/celebrate. :)

haha, pssh screw the Random Decision Generator, if Diivio guesses your gender correctly you will be accepted; if not, rejected.

If there is a “cultural” reference to a post number which is held by you (69, 420 ect…)–regardless of either of the aforementioned eventualities-- you will be deferred…
