Hey guys! Just joined the thread! I applied ERA to Stanford last month! I’m glad to see there’s a support network here for the ultra anxious

me nervous! this school is definitely the only school that i can see myself at.

im pretty sure they sent last year’s decisions at 5:15 Pacific time on friday dec. 12
so if its dec 11, i guess we should assume the same time?

So anonymous, it will actually be 7:15 St. Louis time! 2 more hours, great, huh?

This thread makes waiting so much worse. I hadn’t checked it in a few days and I was feeling okay, so I decided to see what everyone was discussing and now I’m nervous again. Thanks guys. lol I can’t wait till I find out!

people got decisions via email, right?

OMG, Torcher! I didn’t even think about the time zones. TWO HOURS. That seems like an eternity, though it shouldn’t because we’ve all waited for about a month already.

And yeah, mfederman, through the email. If you look through this thread, we’ve debated the merits of getting it through the mail or through email.

What if they put it in the subject line of the email. That’d be brutal!

They wouldn’t do that…would that? If they do, I would be very angry and then laugh about how funny that is. If I were an admissions officer, I would do that.

when they send the e-mail, do they include the decision on an attachment or do they write in on the actual e-mail? anybody know?

wait, dec 12th? i thought it was dec 15th…and yeah, sigh i’m so glad to be part of this thread, b/c when i don’t get in I at least have somewhere to crash.lolol.

does Stanford have merit scholarships or just need based?

i think it just has need based.

Gigi: They include the decision in the body of the email.

Snowy: Last year’s decisions were also scheduled for the 15th, but they were released on the 12th. This has been consistently true in the past, so we’re assuming the 11th this year (the Friday before).

Mfederman: Just need-based. But their scholarships are usually very generous.

In other news, 15 days left. Virtually two weeks. Bahlakdsjfowioeurodfjhkdshfgkh!

did you guys read about how the number of REA applicants rose a lot this year?

really? haven’t heard. can you post a link?

sure!
[Early action apps up four percent](http://www.stanforddaily.com/cgi-bin/?p=1035680)
I wonder how much it has risen now since all the international apps and questbridge apps are in?

I was under the impression that they were decreasing because of the economy.

we have had entire threads about whether thats a big increase or not
haha
i think we generally agreed that we are lucky its only 4%
given that RD apps last year were up about 20%
