Stanford 2014 SCEAers

I still think it’s funny that they have so many more CCers compared to us when our apps went up and theirs down. Whatevs, haha.

Hmm. Well, how many QBers are there here? Maybe we could have a smaller QB decisions thread instead of SCEA, if there aren’t many? (Then repost their decisions in the official SCEA one?)

lol my test stats are so bad which is why I didn’t want to post them. I guess to make myself feel better I’d like to add that I have a 4.0 unweighted and have taken the highest courseload possible at my school and I’m rank 1/439. Lol I know these others don’t count for much but I was also selected by the Boise State Chamber of Commerce to be in Boise Leadership Academy and done engineering internships thing so I don’t think I’m that unworthy of Stanford, but then again which applicant does?

oh wait my ACT is a 32, not that that changes much.

Diivio, will you pledge into the other thread? Or do you not want to post your stats when you get your decision?

And Stanford cares about test scores, but when I visited, they said that test scores are secondary to things like essays/recommendations.

I hope they do care about gpa, essays and recs as well otherwise I probably stand no chance. I’m not sure if I want to post my decisions stats when I get my decisions. Obviously I will if get accepted but to be honest If I get rejected I’ll be too sad to do it. I’m really sorry please don’t hate me guys.

if i get accepted ill visit them :stuck_out_tongue:
might as well save some money lol

same here I’ve got money saved.

here is the other thread Diivio,

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/818001-stanford-2014-scea-decisions-pledge-thread.html</a></p>

Wow you guys have amazing test stats. I feel like an old man who has ED. Impotent and weak…

I don’t see a need to save money. They reimburse you for travel fair to admit weekend in April, which allows all those accepted to visit. (You don’t need to have accepted a spot for matriculation to go.)

I’ve seen people get in with scores and stats like you, Diivio. I mean, it’s a slim chance for any of us to get in, but I don’t see anything wrong with your profile.

test scores aren’t everything, but they do help
and a 32 is good last time i checked :S
at least i hope cause i got a 31 haha

what’s Stanford’s average ACT score, I’m guessing based on your guy’s stats around 33-34?
What about subject tests? 780?

Holisitic.

i wouldnt worry about subject tests, and i think the ACT range is like 31-34 or mabye it went up to 33-35

Yale’s is also scary to read.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/yale-university/802975-yale-2014-ea-pledge-thread-2.html</a></p>

And I second what Nitro Hawk said. Honestly, I think Stanford would rather have people with lower SAT scores that are interesting and have a personality as opposed to people who study all the time.

Oh, speaking of that, this break I went to see Harvard again, and the children in my tour group were whipped children zombies fulfilling their parents’ wishes. And the most competitive people I have ever met.

Not to brag, even if it qualifies as such, but I’m going to Stanford in a bit to meet with a current student to tutor me for math (yes I suck at the subject that applies the most to my intended major).

Here’s Stanford’s official statistics:

[Applicant Profile : Stanford University](<a href=“Page Not Found : Stanford University”>Page Not Found : Stanford University)

Almost 20% of the admitted class had ACT scores between 24 and 29.

lol thanks for making me feel better but their Data set reports don’t lie. Apparently thought their middle 50% for ACT last year for 30-34 so I guess I’m not out of the running completely.

To Prussia: wow a good number of kids got in with scores lower than mine, lol that bolsters my hope just a little bit. Lol why is it that a 32 is in the 99th percentile with the higher ACT numbers. I was happy and confused by that when I got my score.

OH and I didn’t send in my SAT 1 scores, only sent in ACT and subject tests, so I guess they won’t see my SAT 1

PS:Oh well I’m done moaning about things I can’t change. I guess I’ll find out Dec 15th
