Thread for Stanford transfer applicants for fall/spring of 2015

Me. But chances, let’s face it, ~ to 0.

Nobody’s gonna get in to Stanford, chances are like 1 in a million.

checkin in.

I’m writing my essays now because there won’t be time once school starts D’:
good luck to everybody else!

How is everybody else doing with their apps?
finished it
@bomerr
nice to see you in another thread and to have somebody reply haha
are transfer threads normally this quiet, or do people just not check in until, say, they get their results back? There’s nobody around me that’s transferring, so I’ve been quietly checking the transfer forum every day for comfort
I think the Stanford transfer pool is more self-selective so there aren’t too many people on here.
Checking in. I know S transfer would be a crapshoot, but no harm trying. How many freshman transfers are here (turning sophomore in September)?
What chance does an MIT Freshman with a 4.0 and 2400 SATs have in transferring to Stanford?
Haven’t started my apps and barely making progress with profs for recs…
i applied to stanford this year ive submitted all the required docs just waiting on the reply
Oh I’m also a freshman from a California community college. In high school I was accepted into two university. The university of Oregon and California state university San Bernardino
How did you guys manage to work on/finish your apps while juggling your school work? Or did you finish everything during your break?
For me I just waited till football season was over and just did the apps after class.
@jellymuffin
UC apps were due in Nov so I used them to start my Common App: UC essay #2 became Stanford Activity, UC essay #1 became Stanford intellectual development, EC list was reused. Of course I had to make a lot of changes to some of the essays but it gave me a good foundation to start building. Lastly, as you might have guessed, I tried reusing my essays as much as possible to different universities. Sometimes I made really good changes and I would revise those changes back into my Stanford essays. It’s taken me about 2 months to get my essays to the point where I am really comfortable now but I still don’t plan to turn them in until the due date.
So reusing essays and constant editing are my strategies.
@bomerr
well I must say you sound super prepared! haha. I’m extremely nervous. Last summer when I saw that Stanford’s deadline was March 15 I didn’t think too much of it. Now that we’re nearing March 1 I realize how precious those extra 2 weeks are lol
Are there any people here applying to Stanford from the east coast?
As someone who will be considering a transfer next year, I have a couple questions.
What essays do you guys have to write? Do you have to write the common app and the standard intellectual vitality, roommate, and what matters to you and why supplements? Do you have to write any additional essays? If you’ve applied earlier, do you have to write an essay about that?
And secondly, can you submit supplementary recs (say with a professor you did research with) in addition to the standard 2 prof recs (correct me on this one if i’m wrong)?
