Stanford 2015 Official Transfer Thread

@reygun Someone from the last year’s thread said that mostly accepted students get the decision later than those who got rejected.

@badooki No I had not heard that, but I’m not going to let myself believe it until I see proof haha. Too emotional otherwise.

@badooki
HA! Too much potential Stanford pride here. Don’t want to say anything!

Rejected

Rejected. With a 4.0 in mechanical engineering from ccc.

A buddy of mine just got in. Marine Corps veteran! Nice. Definitely well-deserved. Stanford was my #1 but I guess I’m Dartmouth bound…

@aely123 oh dear… that’s exactly the profile my bf has. We’ve still heard nuttem.

@GRANBYsyztem CONGRATS to your buddy!

@reygun if you don’t mind me asking. What was your bfs act/sat score?

@aerly My bf took the SAT in 2003, and I think it was a 1300 on the old 1600 scale.

Rejected. Oh well, CAL BOUND baby! #bears

Rejected, but very happy to her that a majority of Stanford transfers are veterans!!! Congrats to all that have gotten in!

5pm and still nada. Night gathers and now my watch begins.

Rejected! Congrats to the wonderful 20-30 people who will likely get accepted.

Created an account just to rant.

REJECTED. I go to one of the Ivies (not HYP). Definitely one of the worst days of my life! STEM major with a 3.9 GPA, 34 ACT score, good/great recommendations and essays.

I really don’t know what Stanford is looking for. Second time rejected by my dream school. Guess I’m stuck in the crappy East Coast for 2 more years :frowning:

@lowertierivy Seeing the stats of the accepted people of collegeconfidential.com since 2010, I believe Stanford is looking for people with extraordinary experiences - war refugees, veterans, or (once) impoverished people whose paths were rough (however with excelling academic achievements). For transfer, Stanford does not want students who have been already having some advantages.

As a cc student with good grades and ECs, now I realize I was just a big fish in a little pond. I respect those who got accepted to Stanford, not just because they got into the best university, but because they must have gone through, and pushed through something that most people (even I) would’ve just given up.

Rejection from Stanford is kind of unique experience to me. It made me realize that I had been overly self-satisfied.

Rejected :frowning:

Rejected.

Only one Acceptance on here so far, a War Vet. And that’s Stanford for ya! (At least I’ll be spending my summer there as a visiting undergrad! (yay!) – I suppose I’m USF bound unless I get off the waitlist for Irvine. Maybe I’ll make it into Pitzer or SCU).

Like it’s be said – we can do great things, even without a Stanford diploma, though, I’m still going to try again for Grad School (!) :p.

Rejected. Guess Stanford is taking less transfer this year? In the past years there used to be around 2-3 accepted students in CC. I do know their yield was higher than expected for last year’s freshman class though.

Oh wow I didn’t even know this thread existed! I would have been freaking out with you guys in the run up.

I was accepted and posted my info here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/1774185-offical-stanford-transfer-fall-2015-thread.html#latest

OMG! @universalsnip did you REALLY get into Stanford? I have been following this thread and the long list of rejections (which I expected, only because Stanford has a very specific student in mind).

You got in? You have to go! Assuming the financials work. We live about 15 minutes away. You’re set for life with their networking. Stanford always looks out for its own.
however - not sure about Nobel laureate parking spaces. Maybe bike stalls instead.
