@jeepcherokee I think it is valued. When I visited there was a lot of diversity. Then again when someone asked that at the Stanford student forum they said that it depends on what diversity means to you.
@Nathlete I did that on the Cappex scatterplot and I was surrounded by green (acceptance) So I really hope that chart was accurate. xD Considering is good!! Especially since its Stanford.
Do you guys know around when they release decisions?
Stanford releases decisions on March 31st @ 3pm I believe!
"Stanford is my dream school. I have worked so hard during highschool to get straight As. I have the perfect transcript. I dont have good test scores: 24 ACT 1130 SAT. My essays were amazing. In my personal essay I compared myself to an acorn and the law of Dharma and it was just amazing. Im so proud of it. I am also a really positive person and I dont talk about the ‘r’ word. Although I do know it could happen. This has been the most stressful school year ever just waiting in agony for results that I’ve been waiting for the past 4 years. My ENTIRE family expects me to get IN. My aunt is telling all the DOCTORS & NURSES that she works with that Im getting in. SHE MADE A BET WITH HER FRIEND THAT ID GET IN. The amount of pressure I have on me is horrendous.
BUT ANWAYS! Im positive that I’ll get in. As positive as I can be. That felt really good to let out I havent been able to say anything about this. Oops got too deep. I Pray you get in too!!"
Unfortunately, your aunt lost that bet.
You seem like a fantastic applicant, and I bet your essays were fantastic. I know you’ll get into/already got into some fantastic schools, but Stanford is on another level, and unfortunately, positivity won’t get you there. Don’t let a rejection letter from Stanford affect you in anyway, and, most importantly, don’t let it affect your positivity. That positivity and optimism is going to be just as important in your future as a Stanford degree would be.
@kirsten4624 don’t let these stuck up pricks make you feel like you are anything less than what you know you are. Getting into college is like pulling straws. It’s true that good test scores help, but so does character. Which is something you have and those two are clearly lacking. As I said before you’ll make some college very happy. Even if your rejected (I’m sorry but you should probably come to terms with that probability of this), take advantage of the opportunities provided. No one will spoon feed you what you want. You have to fight for what you want, and take it.
So in the spirit of trying not to tear each other down anymore, has anyone heard more of a definite response in regards to a release date?
@sky1000 I think it’s finally fixed for 31st?
@kirsten4624 Hey, I believe in you. Don’t let these characterless people tear you down. Your essays were great and your GPA is good too. The process is holistic for a reason and you’ll end up exactly where you’re supposed to. I completely agree with what @sky1000 has to say. And anyway, the wait is almost over!
@kirsten4624 I’m rooting for you! And myself too, lol. I have a 24 ACT as well but a 3.9 GPA.
You sound very driven.
I hope to be hearing tomorrow that you got accepted. I really want this for myself too. It’s like all the work I’ve put in and the struggle has paid off.
I’ve posted my story on another thread if you would like to read it. It’s very unusual.
I enjoyed reading yours.
