Stanford Alumni Interview

Hi! I just got emailed about having an interview tomorrow... Kind of spur of the moment, but I'm not too worried about it.

I was just wondering what kind of questions I should expect. And also how important is the interview for my application?

Thank you!

I just had my interview today, and it was very informal. I was asked a few main questions, one was “Tell me about yourself”, another was “what is a significant challenge you’ve faced” and the third was “tell me about something you do outside the classroom.” Oh also the “Why Stanford?” question at one point.
On top of that, I was asked a bunch of followup questions about some of my ECs. My interviewer wanted to know about some of my ECs, so they asked a bit about that. For the most part, it was an informal chat about me and then I wanted to know more about the interviewer’s experience at Stanford so a good amount of time was spent just back and forth chatting.
Of course, no two interviewers will be the same, but I hope my input helps.
