Stanford App coming along...

Just finished typing up my Stanford App (not sending it online, but a typed paper copy) - I must say, it looks pretty spiffy!

Now all I have left is to start my essays… I think I should be able to finish before Monday, no prob…

…don’t anyone dare disagree with me, lest you crush my spirits!

..by the way, (in my opinion), Garamond is an awesome font (size 13+ only) -- it looks classy and distincitve, but it's not hard to read...

How do you type your app?

I used Adobe Photoshop to open the PDF file (grayscale, high resolution) and filled in the text boxes using the Text Tool. Then I played with the grayscale levels, to turn the ugly gray backgrounds to white.

If you haven't used photoshop, before, though, I wouldn't start now -- it's a finicky program that requires a lot of finesse.

Hope it helps!

Omg I Love Garamond Soooooo Much!

pfft. Verdana is where it's at.

Finish your essays before monday? Most people spend months on their essays.

You can use photoshop for typing into pdf files? Cool! I am very good at photoshop, I'll try it.
By the way I used Tahoma font for my scholarship essays (mailed in separately), I am expecting excellent results.

Excellent results 'cuz you used Tahoma? :P

Yes. Initially I used Arial font and I could sense that the response from Admissions people would be good. Then I switched to Tahoma. Boy, what a difference it made! I am fairly certain that if your application looks good, you are in.

Times new roman

Times is like NHS: Everyone does it. How are you going to distinguish yourself with that? Unless you designed your own version of the Times New Roman font, this will hurt your chances. Be distinctive.

[end sarcasm]

if youre really cool you type yours in Sans with GIMP on Ubuntu Linux

/flex

I actually prefer wingdings.
