ProjectStanford, if I have even a vague chance of somehow, by fortune or my pure luck, getting into Yale on SCEA, you’re DEFINITELY going to Stanford, no question.

And that Iranian/Mexican thing sounds pretty awesome. XD
And I heard colleges look at GPA not to see how HIGH it is, but to see what trend it is. A 4.0 student who ended up failing her 1st semester senior year was rejected from Wesleyan, while a 3.0 student who kept getting better was accepted into Princeton. Again, the colleges look at circumstances like yours (ALL THAT WORK!!) and put it into consideration.

Best of Luck.

(Feeling so lucky I’m not applying to Stanford…I’ll get rejected for sure if my app ends up next to yours.)

Thanks Everyone, I truly appreciate your positive advice.
Any negative advice though, please do be candid!

While I think you have every chance at getting in, I will say Stanford has rejected some amazing people from our area, and chosen odder, less academic types who have been carefully packaged by a local college counselor who is a Stanford grad. So, take a look around you to see if there are legacies from your school applying--they could be your competition, even if less qualified. Good luck!!

Thank you fauve, to answer your question:

I am the only student applying early to Stanford in my school, no one else has legacy in my grade. Whether or not this will help is beyond me.

Wow. Those are some incredible ECs. I've heard of kids getting into Stanford with decent ECs, similar grades, and INCREDIBLE essays. If you write fantastic essays, I'd say you have a very very good shot. Which is really hard to say about a school such as Stanford. Look at some of your competition... or lack there of.

Thank you

New SAT Score In:

2200 - 750 CR, 750 WR, 700 M - BTW how funny is it that I estimated my score correctly!

Will this help or hurt my chances?

I would say you're in just because you're EC's are so unique and amazing.

However, I'd really get that SAT at least 2100+. Otherwise, it sticks out like a sore thumb when compared to other applicants' scores.

Thank you,

I just got a 2200 on my SAT (see post above) so hopefully i won't stick out - in a detrimental way - regarding my SATs.

I'm going to say Not In, just because I am applying EA to Stanford as well ;)

Your test scores and grades are not that great, but your ECs look good. I wish you luck, but at the same time, you had better not take my spot! :D :)

Haha ok,

I wish you the best of luck as well Neal. Stay humble, and who knows, we might both get lucky...
