Schools:

Stanford – Far Reach
Yale – Far Reach

UCSB – Possible Reach
UCLA – Possible Reach
UCB – Possible Reach

Indiana University – Bloomington – Match/Safety
UNM – Match/Safety

Trix,
gender and race may tip the scale. Also what is your family's socio-econ status? I am only asking because these factors could bolster your chances. Have you consider other UC schools.

I am a femlale - half ethiopian, quarter burmese and a quarter Indian (india). I'm not really sure what to consider myself. My parents are about middle class, maybe upper middle class. I've looked at a few of the other UC schools, but those are the ones that appealed to me.

Your stats are slightly out of range for your top choices and you correctly reflect that in your post. You do have interesting ECs. Since you can include all 8 (or 9 with Merced?) UC's why not take advantage of it and gave yourself some matches and safeties.

I hear they prefer people from a california community college and i'm from santa fe, nm.

Your extracurricular activities are definitely unique. Although you're a little lacking in GPA and SAT scores, a stellar essay and recommendations that highlight the originality of your ECs could definitely work to your advantage.

Trixee, yes, they prefer people from CCC, which makes transfering from an out of state CCC very, very hard. Fair or not, you're chances at Cal and UCLA are almost nonexistent, but I think UCSB would be slightly more reasonable.

Ouch, did you say yur out of state! It is very hard for out of staters to get into UCB and UCLA. Gentleman is right, try other UC's.
