Stanford, CalTech, MIT, etc.

my god people on this site are just too critical and inclined to bash other’s dreams

seriously, to the OP, yes you have a GREAT chance at all of those colleges, I have known students with lower stats than that get into MIT.

Care to back this up?

i agree. i don’t think colleges are bias at all. my friends who only sent in their ACT got 35s and 36s. they were rejected and they didn’t lack in other areas either (gpa, ecs, letters of rec, awards, etc). i don’t think that there really is a standardized test preference.

IF there is a disparity between ACT and SAT, I would have to say that ACT is worse indicator.

The scores are so weird. They average 4 numbers and round up so someone could get a 35 with a 35 35 34 34, or even worse scores, and stil lget the same score as someone else with a 35 35 35 36 (clearly better). ACT Reading and English sections are also really dumb. Only the Math part is better and science portion is just plain weirdo

In my opinion, you have a pretty damn strong application as long as your essays are solid. But honestly, there’s no sure fire way of knowing for schools that you are applying to.
