Stanford Challenge?

According to funfetti, of Stanford board:
"yessss winning! i never liked princeton anyhow, even though i know a few nice people there. there is something about it, like it is too superficially perfect. i dont know. lets beat them.
if stanford and princeton got in a fight princeton would most definitely get owned."

Let's keep the ED roster vibrant, guys!

woah! trying to start a princeton vs. stanford rivalry here? :P

But the funny thing is that it seems a lot of Princeton EDers are going to apply to stanford RD.

That would be funny if some of us went to Stanford instead.
I wonder if we'll feel like traitors. =P

haha yeah....I LOVE Princeton but I really liked Stanford a lot too

I do too, but this shows you how some Stanford applicants view Princeton and its applicants.

One of my best friends goes to Stanford...so naturally I want to beat their EA roster ;)

If Stanford and Princeton both offered me admission, I think I'd take gets mauled by tiger

it seems like everyone in my grade has applied EA to Stanford this year

i don't know anyone who's applying to stanford. but there is a big difference because you live in CA.

Yeah, it seems everyone here applied early to Rice.

I think f.scottie posted an article the other day from Stanford's paper in which they discussed why they should start up a rivalry with Princeton. Something along the lines of "unlike UPenn, we are Princeton's academic equals and our athletics are stronger so we'd beat them everytime" etc. It was rather pathetic actually. Princeton would never stoop so low as to arrange a rivarlry. So sad, so sad.

teehee I know what article you're talking about.

You know, first off an athletic rivalry is totally biased in Stanford's favor
1) Stanford's Div 1a (whether or not their football team looks like it!)
2) Stanford offers athletic scholarships (Princeton doesn't)
3) Stanford puts a ton more emphasis on being competitive in major sports among big state schools, whereas Princeton's emphasis are smaller sports among more elite schools

If they want a rivalry, they should look at academic programs!

But then we would just own them... :)

you're right... I just realized I'm one of the only ones from CA here!

I'm from CA too!

My best friend and I are Stanford vs. Princeton (for our number one choice), respectively.

And the Stanford forum is nowhere near as entertaining as Princeton's!

j07 me too! Lol she is on CC occasionally, but doesn't really find the Stanford board super-fun, like I do the Princeton board. :p

haha its funny how Stanford wants to compete with Princeton
and Princeton is just like
"oh...you want to compete..."
"actually...we were going to apply to Stanford RD" =/

LOL, i just finished the Stanford RD app.

Oops. I feel like I betrayed Pton now. blushes
