Also, please suggest how I can improve. And if possible, please let me know what more I can do.

Thanks for Everything!

Great chances! Nothing much I can really say, but keep doing a good job! Like keep up your grades, take a lot of hard classes, good essays must be written. job well done! Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=1439775

sorry to be frank, but i really think stanford isn’t your type of college. to get into stanford, you have to have really high test scores (2200+). your GPA is fine, but as you step into your junior year, things might get out of control. and EC’s are… just ordinary. sorry, but stanford students have the most diverse and outstanding EC’s such as prominent internships, 200-300 hrs of volunteer service, prestigious awards, have many leadership positions, etc. But there’s always a chance, you’re only a soph, so you have a long way to go still! good luck!

Well, do Colleges look more at Academic related things (GPA, Rank, SAT’s etc) or more at EC’s?

Stanford is expected to be in 6% acceptance rate by the time you apply.

At that acceptance rate, most people don’t stand chance. However, if you don’t apply, you stand zero chance.

To answer your last question - they look at everything.

Your transcript is by and far the most important thing in your application. Where you are looks very good now. Keep putting in the work, and make sure to take about 3-4 APs a year, and make good use of your NMSQT next year. You have a good chance to get commended/finalist, and that will help your application. You’re too far away now for a chance, but you’re on the right track.

You must have amazing grades to have a realistic chance, but once you have those it is the other things like ECs and your essays that will make you stand out.
