Stanford Chances

All,

Being the self proclaimed "average white kid" trying to get admitted to some top schools, I'd really like to know if anything stands out on my creds or if anything (probably SAT score) is lacking. My goal is to study aerospace engineering. I applied REA to Stanford, and am applying to Harvard (hehe), Yale, Princeton, Purdue, Cal Poly, UCLA and UC Berkeley. Obviously not all of those schools have AE so I might go with Mechanical at those who don't. Already into some safeties like Texas A&M and CU-Boulder... here's what I have to work with:

GPA
Unweighted: 4.0
Weighted: 4.7143
School: Competitive Public School in Colorado

Testing
SAT: 2120 R: 650 M:750 W:720 Essay:11
Subjects Tests (o jeez) MATH 2: 670 US History: 640
ACT: Composite 34 (R:35,M:35; W:35,S:31) Essay:12

Taken 19 "weighted classes", not sure if that matters to Stanford; 4's on AP Calc AB, AP LANG, and AP US; in AP STATS, AP LIT, AP CHEM, and AP GOV this year. Taken engineering courses all 4 years of HS.

EC's

Tennis

Boy Scouts
Eagle Scout, Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Baden Powell Leadership Award; built tennis benches for my Eagle Scout Project

Private Pilot License
Explains itself i think; earned it with 40.5 hours; 40 is absolute minimum req.

Chemistry Club COO
Helped found the Chemistry Club at my School

Summer Job
Technical Assistant at Pharmaceutical Analysis Company

Volunteering
Eagle Scout Project- 80 hours
Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon- 40 hours over one weekend
Fire Relief Fundraisers-10 hours
Soup Kitchen (all the typical stuff)
Adopt-a-garden summer work

Religious
Confirmand at Episcopalian Church

Research
Developed Independent Study Curriculum at my HS and tested winglet effects on aircraft wing performance at the USAFA wind tunnel

School Spirit
Captain of "Kadet Krazies" basically fan organization of my HS

My biggest concern is if admissions will consider the low SAT score even though they state they're concerned with my highest score (ACT by far). The SAT subject tests are low too. I guess my real question is are other parts of my app good enough to overcome that?

Thanks for input, and don't worry about being completely honest. If I don't have chance, let me know.

Can you re-take your subject tests this December? Also I am no expert in terms of the financial aspects of applying for aid at schools, but I would be VERY careful in terms of applying to all top schools if you’re broke or you’re parents aren’t going to pay much. I am almost definitely sure that all the schools financial depts. will see where you applied if you filled out the FASFA, and if you get in, but can’t afford it, your not going period.

http://www.insidehighered.com/news/2013/10/28/colleges-use-fafsa-information-reject-students-and-potentially-lower-financial-aid

I could, but not in time for REA consideration at Stanford; I could defer my app to RD if that would help. I’m taking Math 2 and Chem in December for Princeton. I also forgot to mention NHS, but who isn’t in it who applies to Stanford anyways? hah

I’m not broke; my family is pretty solidly middle class so I don’t think that will affect it too much.

for stanford unfortunately it will probably be a reach due to your SAT score. For other top schools where you will be able to submit just your ACT, your chances will be much better, although you might want to consider retaking your subject tests.

Also, could you possibly chance me back?
