Stanford Chances?

<p>I know this has pobably been repeated often before, but here are my credentials, </p>

<p>graduating this year, 2011
GPA: 4.38, class rank: 13th out of 650 at a highly competitive high school
this is top 2% btw</p>

<p>ACT: 35
AP tests:
Chemistry: 5
English Language: 5
European History: 4
taking psychology, calculus bc, physics c, english lit, microeconomics and computer science AP tests this year, along with those classes my senior year</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
RUSH Core leadership club director
NHS vice president
Athletes committed to excellence: Committe Head
Varsity Basketball player, played all 4 years
soccer player freshmen year
Started/created our school's "School spirit" club: still the current president
Junior class board: secretary
Boy scout: freshmen year
student government: freshmen year
am currently in a local band(not a school band)
Idr what else</p>

Soccer Referee since 7th grade
I also started my own home guitar-restoration business</p>

<p>I know stanford is near impossible to get in to, but lemme know what u all think</p>

<p>Looks like you have a pretty solid application! Even though Stanford is extremely prestigious, with your scores and your extra-curriculars, you’re definitely a good candidate. I’d say low-reach.

<p>I think you have a shot, but I’d characterize it as more of a mid to high reach. </p>

<p>Your ACT is fine. Your ECs are good but nothing really so amazing that they provide a boost (BTW I think the activities you did freshman year and dropped - boy scout and soccer - should probably not even be mentioned in the application). The reason I think you are a mid to high reach is your class rank - it’s good for most schools but low for HYPS. I think to be a low reach you need to be in the top 5 or at least top 10 with amazing ECs.</p>
