HateSMUS, YUP. Deferred from Stanford.

That’s not a terrible situation though. I think Chicago defers so much people that the acceptance rate among deferred chicago applicants is 10% whereas Stanford’s is 15%. Considering their RD acceptance rate, Stanford clearly defers more likely, and less applicants to RD.

Well, I’m applying for class 2017 and I still haven’t got my confirmation…
I checked the axess website and found my information processed successfully…
But why no confirmation…
Is anyone else in the same boat and should I contact the office of admission?

If you’re worried, you could call them.

I feel like the only one in life without any interviews from my top choices. xD

I won’t have any interviews in the RD round. I had 2 in the EA round though.

Hey, I applied to Stanford RD, as well. Guys, we hit the 2-month deadline! Does Stanford ever send out some of their admissions decisions before the given date? USC’s date was April 1, as well, but I just got my acceptance letter the other day. Is Stanford the same way, or are they a little stricter on their deadlines?

No, htracing25, Stanford sends RD acceptances at the same time late March. USC sends acceptances in late January for those who got merit scholarships, and end of March for the rest (although their NM scholarships may have to wait until the end of March). So, congrats on your USC scholarship:)

I’m not expecting any early notification from my most desired universities anyway My stats are not that impressive. Does anyone know if any of Umich, UCLA, Berkeley, or northwestern send any early notification for RD apps?

Hey: I rarely use College Confidential; however, I do have a question now and found this thread while attempting to search for the answer online. I received what appears to be a “likely” letter from Stanford; however, it does seem to have come fairly early - almost too early - and unlike a normal “likely” letter, it seems to actually offer admission to the class of 2017. Has anyone else received such a thing, or can tell me if this is real?

^Perhaps if you share part of what is written in the letter we could tell you. A scan would work as well.

@ 601618, stanford likely letters are pretty well known for being more strongly worded than others, so it’s very possible that you got a likely. congrats, that’s incredible!

It is very possible. Yale has already sent out 100 likelies. I hear that if you get one, it is clear that you are admitted, and it’s not too early. If it’s a likely, congrats!

Feeling a bit overlooked at almost mid Feb and no interview request from Stanford,Yale,Columbia or Duke. My D has had an EA interview for Princeton (deferred) and what she feels were really engaging and successful interview for Harvard and Georgetown. For the last two she had to drive 50 miles. With all the comments about how much the interview means, I still feel like it is an important part of the experience. We would probably drive all the way to Atlanta to fulfill one. Are Stanford interviews plentiful or scarce in the South.

I’m right outside Atlanta…nothing.
:

Stanford actually doesn’t offer interviews in the majority of states, especially in the Midwest and the South.

Areas with available interviewers are listed here: [Alumni Interview Program : Stanford University](<a href=“Page Not Found : Admission Volunteers : Stanford University”>Page Not Found : Admission Volunteers : Stanford University)

thanks so much for this link

I’m excited for the decision. Stanford is my #1 as well, but i’m trying to be as relaxed as possible. If i don’t get in, then that’s the way it is and life goes on. Wish everyone the best of luck

I just got an email from Stanford inviting me to attend some math seminar or something but when I first saw that I had an email from Stanford, I NEARLY POOPED MY PANTS.

sigh, I’m a tad on edge, I suppose. :)
