Stanford Class of 2017 RD Discussion

Is stanford releasing decisions on the 29th?

the website said april 1st.

Everyone’s website says “BY April 1.”

No one releases April 1. Ivy Day is 3/28 so people are predicting 3/29 for Stanford.

And that, clairebear, is why I will be visiting after I get accepted xD

My family is alumni and in our alumni letter Stanford said “decisions will be available no later than March 30th”

Yes! Two days eliminated!

Hi there!
I signed up just to post this. :)

A family friend was saying that ivy schools and the like take into account an applicant’s ability to get acceptances at other top tier colleges before offering him/her admission.

Is this true?

Thanks in advance!

^ don’t understand your question

oi kids lets talk. im board.

Sup, uni. How’s life? I guess decisions come next week…

IshaChi, Your family friend’s statement is neither valid nor useful, to put it politely. Suggest you ignore it.

hey alexissss. just chilling. urgggg I have to get through a midterm this week then I can yolo my way to decisions next week. how’re you?

Actually exstudent, that is true for some California public schools. (Although I doubt it’s valid for a school like Stanford)

Midterm. Ew. I hope you do well!

Aww, not much. I’m just job hunting and stuff.

“Actually exstudent, that is true for some California public schools. (Although I doubt it’s valid for a school like Stanford)”

That’s what I thought too, it seems unlikely that Stanford would do that.

I have no idea what it means to say “that is true for some CA public schools”. If you mean Berkeley cares whether you can get into UCLA, and considers that for its own admissions decision, that’s nonsense.

(Think about it. How would they even put this into practice? They’re going to assess you for another school first, and then assess you for their school? Or they’re going to call around and check with the other schools?)

If you’re referring to some other protocol between CA schools, I haven’t seen anything about that sort of thing from any reliable source.

So, just to be clear, no one knows for sure when decisions will come out?

Not for sure, but the general consensus is that it will be on the 29th.

Sorry to be late to the party…I didn’t realize this thread existed until today! But I’m an RD applicant from AZ! Isn’t the 29th Good Friday though? Will they still release decisions that day?

@laprincesa - seeing as Stanford isn’t affiliated with any religious organization… I doubt they care!

That is very true! Hmphhhh and here I was thinking I was going to get my rejection letter two days earlier than I thought!
