***Stanford Class of 2019 Applicant Discussion***

Vermont, does that count?

Is South Carolina obscure?

Montana! (More cows than people, 4 seasons include “almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction”)

Minnesota, as I already mentioned. I feel mtnclimber’s pain with the seasons!

Here in Minnesota, most big college campuses have a heated underground tunnel system to escape the freezing temperatures in November-March. Is that weird?

Colorado’s not exactly the most obscure state but believe it or not there is actually more to do here than smoke weed and ski

yay for minnesnowta! lol, where snow in may is normal…

Does Stanford strive for geographic diversity? I feel like they’re trying to not have only California kids.

I’m sure it’s something that’s nice to have, but it won’t matter nearly as much as your essays or your scores/GPA in the admissions process.

Any tips on how to get friday off of my mind? Haha X_X

Here’s what I’ve been doing:
-working on RD apps for 3 other schools
-“studying” for finals
-stress baking (and eating…)
-playing Pokemon
-Netflix
-stalking these threads

As you can see, I haven’t really been productive…

Yeah, does anyone have advice on how to get the d-date off of my mind?!

Netflix is the way to go!

@KMizzle‌ for sure it’s not that important, even if it exists. If you want to feel better about yourself, I have an AP Cal final tomorrow which I haven’t studied for. :frowning:

lol my friday-saturday could probably not be structured worse. I come home from my half-day at school friday at 11:45 A.M (EST), meaning I can sit at home and wait for 6+ hours for the stanford decision to come. Yay! And then, I have an MIT interview the next morning to top it off which I’m sure to fail either way because i’ll be emotionally unstable regardless.

I’m from Florida! So I hope they like geographic diversity.
Netflix is the way to go. Just binge watch a bunch of shows and before you know it it’ll be Friday. I just started How I Met Your Mother. I’ll probably finish a few seasons by this weekend :P

I’m trying to pour myself into my studies (I have finals this week). It’s not working.

Never thought I’d be envious of people for finals week! Our semester ends mid January. (Don’t ask me; I know it makes no sense!)

@KMizzle‌ that’s so cool! I wish schools in California had that. but California isn’t exactly known for its freezing winters.

Texas, is that an obscure state? :stuck_out_tongue:

@mtnclimber‌ my school does the same thing. I have always thought it was word since we have christmas break and then two weeks then finals. We are on the block schedule, and apparently that’s why. But I’m not too sure about that.
