I can only imagine that I’m not the only person here who is trying to get a head start on college apps! So how many of you are applying, and are you early action or regular?
Class of 2019 here! I just wanted to wish all of you luck in your applications and all of your other endeavors. This process is going to be long, hard, and stressful, but it’s something I’ll never forget. It gave me something to look back on and laugh at, something that gives me butterflies when I think of the excitement of submitting apps and opening admissions letters. Good luck, and just know everything will work out.
@DL43516 Congratulations on your acceptance! Best of luck to you at the farm.
Applying EA if I manage to get my SAT Score up in the 2200s+ in October.
If not, it’ll be regular decision.
I’ve finished my common app essay, but I’m still working on the other 3 essays/personal statements.
Good luck to everyone in the Class of 2020!
@Pghimire I’m applying early action too. The essays are pretty fun to write, I’m just lost on what I want to be the one thing I write about on the intellectual vitality essay. :-S
@Pghimire Where’s the personal statement on the common app website?
@afamelas I’m applying early action, as well. I see all these deadlines, but for the life of me can’t seem to find when the application actually opens. Anyone know?
@JosPants are you applying through the common app?
@afamelas Isn’t that the only way?
@JosPants For some schools, they allow you to apply through their websites. I haven’t looked into whether Stanford is one of them. The common app is already open to make your accounts and applications open August 1st.
@afamelas I’m pretty sure Stanford is exclusively Common App. And thanks for the info. August 1st here I come. :)>-
Supplements aren’t changing, right?
@glasshours I don’t think so.
C/O 2019 (Early Action) here! Good luck! If you have any questions, feel free to message me.
Class of 19 REA here, and I’d be happy to help you guys out. Please don’t be like the random strangers messaging me to give them my essays though, that’s creepy.’
Good luck to all of you guys! You can do it!
Applying RD to Stanford!!
Anybody know if Stanford changes their essay prompts from year to year?
What I mean is can I trust that last year’s 3 essay prompts will be the same for this year?
I read an article published about a year ago that Stanford is going to increase their freshman class size to 1,800 starting with the class of 2020.
Does anybody know if Stanford is going to go ahead with that plan?

@Join20 Not sure. The university ended up with a much higher than expected yield, forcing them to open up more dorms than they were expecting. Might mean those plans aren’t valid anymore.
@Join20 I think I heard they were going to be starting to increase class sizes with the class of 2020. But I think, for this first expansion, they were only going to do a few hundred extra. But hey, lets all hope I’m wrong, right?
@Join20 I’m fairly certain the three short essays aren’t changing this year.
