***Stanford Class of 2020 Applicant Discussion***

Did anyone else receive a rather big booklet w/ a picture of a bukding on the front and the back all red from Stanford? It details the campus life and what they’re about. Just curious if it means anything cause I hadn’t received anything else from them until I applied

@Perbler looking at it right now  it doesn’t help the anticipation.

@Perbler I received mine slightly before I turned in my app, and it made me want to go to Stanford even more  but I’m also starting to get the jitters as the day of judgment arrives lol

I got one at an information session (this one had a craft project page at the, to make an origami Stanford tree, which made me squeal and now the tree is hanging over my desk xD).

Does doing a live audition help in your admissions chances?

We’ve got 3 weeks to go!
(Well, more like 20 days, 4 hours, and 10-ish minutes!!!)

@phelps16 live auditions and recorded auditions are judged equally.

For those you have taken both SAT and ACT tests … Did you send both the scores and all your SAT subject test scores?

Yeah, I sent both even though my SAT is a lot better than my ACT. I also sent my subject tests @mycollegeplan1

I didn’t send ACT and my first attempt SAT scores with early action decision. please advise if I should send it now. thanks

@mycollegeplan1 Stanford requires you to send all your ACT and SAT scores, and gives you the option to choose whether or not to send your subject test scores.

would someone be willing to read my what matters to you essay? i already applied REA so it’s not like i can do anything at this point, but i would just like some feedback on it.

@epoque I could read it for you.

@afamelas thanks so much! I’ll pm ya

@epoque I’ll read

I’m pretty nervous. I’m a QB finalist who ranked Stanford, so I only have one more week

@CardinalSin2020 I hope you get in but leave a spot for the rest of us :frowning:

@JPinkman You don’t have to worry. Some would say doing NCM is even more competitive than REA. I’m hopeful because I’m a URM making less than 20k.

I’m worried about scores and essays. Scores because they’re kinda low, and essays because people who don’t know my writing style are saying I just opened a thesarus. I’m hoping access to my QB app and SAT/ACT essays and applying as a philosophy major will help. Anyone have something they’re worried will be looked down on?

@CardinalSin2020 oh most definitely. I’m worried they won’t think I have the intellectual curiosity they’re looking for because my intellectual vitality essay certainly isn’t my strongest :frowning:
