@Mchichioco Your test scores and GPA aren’t too good, but if your personality shines through on your essays you may have a chance. Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/1837754-chance-me-i-chance-back.html#latest
@Mchichioco wow your life story is so compelling it sounds amazing! could you chance me too I posted my stats on page 24 of this thread!
SAT: 2400 superscored
SATII: Bio M: 800, Spanish: 790, Chem: 730
GPA: 3.97/4.0 & 5.013/6.0 (Salutatorian)
APs: World, Euro, Chem, AB, BC, APUSH, Bio, Lang (got 5s in all except APUSH)
But if I do get in, it won’t be because of all of that. My on paper application is pretty standard for a competitive stanford applicant. If anything, it’ll be my essays, which I’m really proud of.
hmm Salutatorian? Wouldn’t Valedictorian be more standard?
@Elrathia Couldn’t get that chem score up?
@IvyObsessed1955 more standard? I don’t understand.
@ivybound456 I honestly didn’t care enough to retake.
wow this thread just got a lot of activity, love seeing all the stats. You guys are really impressive lol
@potatoheadhala I’m from Miami, FL Where it’s always rainy and humid. The “Sunshine State” is a misnomer
@Elrathia you were saying that you have a standard application and I’m definitely not nearly as accomplished as you are but aren’t most people Valedictorians not Salutatorian who are accepted and post on the decisions page?
since I was the only person in my class (homeschooled) can I put myself as the top 1% and the valedictorian? the bottom 100%? tough choices
@stannyhopeful You are freaking out over an A-?! I am freaking out over a B! You are a strong candidate. I would calm down and have faith. I am a strong believer in things happen for a reason. You are a brilliant student, and have a greater chance than most.
@IvyObsessed1955 idk. I don’t think it makes that much of a difference. Salutatorian, Valedictorian, they’re basically the same thing in the eyes of admissions.
@Shoumei lol go for it.
I…cant… go on…

Please stop the “Chance Me” comments. Applications are essentially reviewed like this:
GPA / Standardized Tests / Course Rigor: Prerequisite
EC List / Awards: Gives admission officers a general idea of what your interests are
Essays / LORs: Determines acceptance
Guys, going crazy and jumping around like rabbits on aderall isn’t going to help y’all. My advice: Just focus on what you’ve got to do now. Get down to some studying. Code. Go out and get some sunshine. Chill out. Work on your applications.
As a good friend said to me: “Don’t be tense. Be intense.”
^That. Also, if you’re trying to get chanced on here, it won’t help. You never know what Stanford will accept. The only thing we know is that they want kids who will make use of Stanford. They have so much to offer, they want kids who realise the value of learning, and at the same time enjoy the process.
We have a week left, so eat your worries out (chocolate works), listen to Troye Sivan’s new album, do what you love and everything will be alright
Not to be too harsh, but since your academic stats are mediocre at best for even a non-elite school, and your EC’s are scarce and not unique, you probably won’t be getting into Stanford.
However, I know that I won’t be either, along with thousands of other students so don’t be too upset
@Stannnfooord44 lol you’re going to have to be more specific than that. Who are you talking about? There are like five chance me posts on this thing right now.
@hellolol @hopefulmuch @1golfer1 yeah, sorry about that.
