Guys, Does stanford accept only CSS or does it also accept ISFAA? Hurry…
only CSS @Learner12388
Wow I haven’t been contacted for an interview yet and it’s concerning bc I know kids from my school who I applied EA and they got interview requests right away
@RoadtotheIvies98 Same here. Friend got contacted but I didn’t.
@RoadtotheIvies98 it doesn’t matter, interviews are completely random and filled by alumni availability.
@RoadtotheIvies98 remember that the number of people who apply EA is a lot less than the number of people who apply RD, yet the number of alumni is the same, and their availability is the same. They can only offer interviews to so many folks, and the applicants who get interviews are chosen randomly and based on their location.

FWIW, my son is a legacy and hasn’t been offered an interview yet, although they are offered in our town (I’ve conducted them in prior years, and several other alums out here do).
How big a deal are the interviews? Stanford started conducting interviews in my country this year, and I feel that my interview was excellent
Hey guys, sorry if this question has already been answered… but can’t seem to find an answer. I have a few large updates that I’d like to notify Stanford of. However, on their website, they say to not send in any additional materials/update the common application. Is the Stanford optional update form only for deferred students? Is there anyway to update my application? thanks
@anotherdude they generally don’t count for much, but they can help emphasize parts of your application, say, your excitement about/passion for some of the activities you talk about and stuff.
My counselor and recommenders submitted all of my documents for Stanford in October. However, Stanford hasn’t processed any of those documents yet! Why is Stanford slacking so much? None of the other universities I applied to took this long.
A good interview can help tip you off the fence, a really bad interview, ditto. But (relying on memory now) the Dean of Admissions said that the interview report makes a different only about 10 or 15% of the time. They will be sending out interview invitations until at least Feb 15th, and if you don’t get one it is simply because there were no interviewers available --it is all about your zip code and has nothing to do with your numbers or application.
btw, Even though the Stanford acceptance rate is about 5% overall, it is about 10% for EA and closer to 3% for RD. So most really strong applicants will be rejected. It stings, but every strong applicant will find a great school, and what you do after college matters far more to your long term success than which college you went to.
Guys, Stanford accepts January SAT test scores, right?
I took the January SAT test in physics but I’m not sure whether I should report it or not but I have to decide soon because if I send it after scores are out it will definitely not reach in time. My previous score was 750 and I’m not sure that I got higher this time. Would submitting a lower score hurt my chances?
Any applicants from North India who have been contacted for an interview yet?
What a miracle, Stanford finally processed some of my documents. I almost was about to give up! hahaha
@finny12
When did you submit your commonapp?
