I used the addition information piece to explain extra-curriculars that were not completely covered in the activites section, or that I had to leave out of the ten. I also talked about the specific clubs that I’m a part of that couldn’t be clarified in the activites section.
@futuredoc99 I don’t think Stanford makes a serious consideration of major in their undergrad admission process, but I applied as Bioengineering as first interest and Comp Sci as second
@CiteYourSources yea I was just wondering in futuredoc’s case, I didn’t write an essay in my add info section
@CuriousBobby yea ik i was just wondering lol
I only used additional information to clarify the parameters of a scholarship opportunity and explain a significant injury that ended my sports career. I didn’t want them to think I just quit…wasn’t good enough to be recruited by Stanford with scholarship but did and still get scholarship offers from many D2 schools and could probably walk-on at Stanford if admitted.
What about those quick take questions ? I was just honest, not all my answers went with my major but one of my FAVORITE hobbies, singing!
Anthro major here! Any others? Probably not lol
Bio major
Biomedical Computation
@CuriousBobby It is pushing the deadline a little, but an update could include a getting significantly higher SAT/ACT, becoming a finalist for a scholarship, receiving an award, getting a leadership position in an activity with a time commitment that you mentioned on your app, and/or beating a time/record for a sport you play.
Hoping to major in Poli Sci with a minor in either Public Policy or International Relations!
Biochem major here!
So 800 admitted REA and 800 deferred to RD! AHHH. That sounds bad actually… thanks @Hoggirl
Psych major
@kath00 It’s not bad since only about 8,000 people apply REA. It means that 10% of people are accepted and another 10% deferred, which is better then the 4.5% overall acceptance rate.
Environmental Engineering major
Computer Science, anyone?
5 more days guys… I have to study now
I was hoping a very small percentage was deferred, like 100-200, so that most people already KNOW the decision and don’t prolong the torture. LOL.
Yooo did anyone apply as Energy Resources Engineering? I swear Im the only one who has so far…
@Oscardinho CompSci buddy here xD
@kath00 I read somewhere that they admit 15% of deferred applicants in the RD round, so that’s roughly 11.5% of all REA applicants accepted.
