Haven’t been contacted either, and am in South Florida. No biggie guys and gals.
Any tips for the interview?
didn’t get an interview either…and I’m pretty sure there are Stanford alums in my area. Hopefully, it doesn’t mean anything bad.
Hey, has anyone done an interview already? If so please share some tips… what kinda questions were you asked…
I’m from Johannesburg and will be having mine next week.
Thanks In Advance!
hey guys! was wondering if it’s harder for you to get in if you applied for financial aid. i did! and i’m a bit worried.
i mean, would it be possible for them to admit you but don’t grant you scholarship??
Stanford is need blind for domestic applicants. If you’re an international, then it is taken into account.
They meet full demonstrated need for everyone, so it depends on what they calculate @myvineandfigtree
I’m an international student. Had my interview today. I think it went really nice. We talked about a lot of stuff from AI to Mechanics and how classes at Stanford work. He said we’ll talk for 45 minutes but it ended up lasting for around an hour and 40 minutes. I think the only question that he asked me was Why Stanford and then some details about my extra-curriculars about which I told him in the course of answering Why Stanford.
An international student and had my interview today. My person also said we’ll talk for 45 minutes, but we went a little over an hour. Super nice guy, he didn’t really come with any specific questions, he just asked a few questions based on what I said as we went along. I talked about my academic interests, why I chose Stanford, extra-curriculars, and hobbies. I’m pretty sure that these alums are volunteering to have a nice conversation, not to grill you, so just relax (not that I wasn’t nervous lol) and be honest! And prepare some questions to ask!
Hello! I did my interview last Thursday and the alum told me in advance to bring my resume. She mostly asked questions about my listed extracurricular activities such as why I choose to do them and how I participate. As she put it, the interview write ups are supposed to make your application a little more human instead of just stats. Hope this helped!
Hey guys! I just got contacted by my interviewer and i’m totally stoked. Stanford website specifically says to not bring resumes, transcripts, or other supplementary materials. Should I bring a resume just in case? Also good luck to everyone who has submitted/will be submitting. Power to you!
If the website specifically says to NOT bring any school materials then do not.
Ok for those of us who did not get an interview, I have learned that there are limited resources so even if someone who goes to your own school gets an interview, you may not. Stanford determines who gets an interview (provided they’re living in the right area) randomly, so if you don’t get one, don’t worry.
do you guys know if stanford releases results exactly on december 15th? and what time?
@whoopdeedoo4 Decisions are released BY December 15th. in the past they have come out >5 days earlier.
oooo just got an invitation for interview for tomorrow!!! Nervous and excited ahhh
@bluepear2000 Good luck!
Is it really true that most people in the early round are recruited athletes and legacies? Or it that a myth to scare people off?
A good number are, yes. It’s what makes REA admission seem like it has a higher chance, when in reality…
