Stanford Class of 2022 Discussion/Decisions

^^ See earlier post: “Someone I know just received a likely letter via email!”

are they still sending likely letters or was that it

Hey has any international applicant(applying for aid) received a letter like “The Stanford Undergraduate Admissions Office has identified you as an international applicant who has requested financial aid consideration.”??? with a fee waiver code

I have. Does it mean anything or no? lol @Ramaa

@2022AB2102 Sadly, I don’t think it does.

Im international buy i did not receive that email

@yayaylearner Are you applying for financial aid?

Yes I am @Ramaa

@yayaylearner have you received it now?

@Ramaa nope! maybe it really does mean something 0.0

@Palaksh Hopefully this will be helpful for you or to anyone else who is younger or has yet to have an interview. I had my interview last week and I thought it went fairly well. The lady who interviewed me was very nice and offered to buy me a coffee or tea. I remember her for sure asking me:
-Tell me about yourself.
-Tell me about your family.
-Now that you’ve had more free time (in context of our conversation), how have you used it to explore/discover something?
-What are you hoping to study in college? (pretty sure they don’t have this or any other specific stats or information about students) - she actually has a career in the same field that I want to enter so this really helped us connect, and I was able to ask her more career-specific questions
-Would you prefer living in a big city or a small town? (again, in context of our conversation)
Be sure to have at least 2-3 specific questions for your interviewer in case you have a chance to ask or your interviewer asks if you have questions (both instances happened in my interview). Also do plenty of research on Stanford beforehand so you are very up-to-date and knowledgeable, this was really useful for me because my lady had a question about freshmen since she hadn’t been there in awhile, and luckily I’d read enough to be able to confidently answer her question. Another interesting thing to note, she congratulated me on being offered an interview, she said that Stanford must be giving me serious consideration in order for that to happen. However, I am aware that they offer alumni interviews to everyone near alumni, so I’m guessing her information is just outdated. Please let me know if you have heard otherwise, or have any other questions about the interview! I have done 3 other college interviews at very good schools so I might be able to help.

@ramaa @2022AB2102 i think it could mean they are considering your application. I got that same email with a CSS profile fee waiver code and I ended up getting accepted (REA btw)… But then again, you never really know; after all it’s Stanford.

Thanks David for your insight  It sounds positive but @ramaa and I shouldn’t get too excited about it as you mentioned. We never know :d Congrats btw!

Hey guys! Just wanted to say I applied  I wish all of us the best no matter where we end up.

I haven’t received the interview call from Stanford. As per Stanford website, all interviews are completed by mid-February. Anyone from India, who didn’t receive the interview call? Is interview by Stanford selective in India?

I am surprised because I live in Georgia but did not get an interview request. All my other schools had available alumni. Oh well.

I heard of someone who got a likely letter for RD from Stanford today. Yale SCEA admit.

@writergirl0316 Happen to know if it was via email, letter or phone call?

@ventri via email. seems like they’ll do it again next week since they did it last week as well.

My friend was officially accepted RD today. Not an athletic recruit, didn’t apply REA, no alumni connection, and not a likely letter. The decision reads:

“Dear [name],

Congratulations! I am writing with an early notification of your admission to Stanford’s Class of 2022.

We were inspired and humbled by your energy, imagination, talent, and heart, and this early approval is a tribute to your extraordinary achievements and your passion for…”
