@fritzy00 I did, and I also noted that one uncle and one grandpa were faculty once too.
Having the worst anxiety, but also trying to accept my circumstances at this point. Worst luck. . . honestly.

Submitted my app at the last minute-ish bcuz I was trying to make sure it was perfect. . .
-
only to realize .03 sec after I submitted that at the bottom of my Common App essay, I put the wrong college name (the name of one of my safety schools), instead of Stanford.
-
kinda bad experience with my interview. hard to contact (conflicting schedules), but when we eventually talked, skype wasn’t working. it was over the phone. long periods of utter silence (idk if she was busy writing or what was going on). I already know I’m a better writer than speaker. she also asked about where my siblings went and when I mentioned the school (which happens to be the safety school written on my Common App essay), she complimented the school. Hyped it up. cue the sweats
-
then i realize .003 seconds after interview ends that i forgot to tell her about my economically disadvantaged school system (no APs, or IBs, etc. and limited academic opportunities). she said i could, so i did email her, but she never emailed back. idk if she’ll include that in her review. people told me not to be too worried, but I’M WORRIED.
-
realizes today that i may have not emphasized my international honors/awards enough. i only put them in the descriptions of my activities. . . not in the place designated for actual HONORS. cr*p.

Stanford asks and reminds me that they still need my 2nd teacher rec on the 12th, but my stupid email puts it in the promotional tab. i don’t see it until today. my teacher submitted it today too (one day after it was due). hopefully, they still have time to see and consider the rec.
SOMEONE HELP.
accept defeat?
keep on hoping?
i feel like giving up, honestly.
These things happen. If they want you, they want you even if you have problems with your app or missed deadlines by only a day or two.
Hey does anyone know if Stanford sends rejection letters by snail mail as well? I’m hoping for a fat envelope, but I think I’m not going to open my admissions decision on my computer until I get physical mail because I like to torture myself.
Hey guys, hope everyone is well. I submitted by REA app on Oct 31st, got an interview request on November 4th and took it on Veteran’s Day. It went really well for me personally because I was lucky enough to get an interviewer whose work background matched up a lot with my own.
Anyways, if you have your own interview upcoming, don’t worry! My mom was really worried for me even though I was confident in myself (though it’s the first actual interview I’ve done for a college), but in the end it’s just a flowing conversation. My interviewer was super friendly and I never felt uncomfortable at any time. Just talk about what you love and why you’re interested as there is no set questions to ask; often they’ll base it around your passions and interests!
Good luck to everyone! Non-legacys already have a low chance but you never know, Stanford’s been a little unpredictable in past years!
@go4gift that sucks dude, I’m so sorry.
I’d just chill. Which is hypocritical of me to say because, like you, I’m not chilling either. But after we get our decisions, it won’t matter, and we’ll all likely regret not making more beautiful moments with friends in high school— regardless of whether or not we get accepted.
@go4gift Hey there, I’m really sorry you had to go through such stressful journey. While it might be cliche to say how everything in life is meant to be, I really believe that all the kicks and kudos we experience in our lives are there for their own specific reasons.
I think you should focus more on enjoying the rest of your senior year, spend time with your fam and friends. If the worst thing that can happen in your life is not get into Stanford, I’m confident that you’ll have a genuinely incredible life ahead of you!
Ohh hey what major/academic interest are y’all applying to?
I applied to psychology and just had my interview today.
I applied for Visual Arts it makes me really nervous that my work will likely be a determining factor for me
Political Science!!
I applied for Computer Science! I hate this decision wait, its been antagonizing so far!
Biology
does major matter in the final decision?
You don’t get accepted into a certain school, but I would be surprised if they didn’t factor it in at all. It would be difficult to let someone in who wants to go into medicine but has nothing to show for it
can somebody take one for the team and call Stanford’s admissions office to get a solid REA decision date. I’m dying
You and me both
someone posted this earlier…though I think it’s Dec 15, not 14
Ok so I got an email about an interview on Thursday (15th) at 7 pm and I responded on Saturday (17th) at 8 am and now it is Tuesday night and I still haven’t received a response, but the dates I suggested for the interview are kind of close… Should I send a follow-up email?
I would recommend it
