I heard from the ppl in my dorm that CME was alot of b*tch work but if you do it you'll come out with a good grade (CME 100, 102 - relatively easy, CME 104 - super hard). IMO (I took the 50's series) the math midterms are conceptually harder while CME is more mechanical. I've also heard that engr 31 was extremely easy (can anyone confirm it? basically all the humanities ppl that don't want to take chem 31x take engr 31

I wouldnt do math, chem, phys combo first quarter. I drop chem and chill with 14 units or take something else. have fun first quarter and load up afterwards. Its what I did and I've enjoyed it.
I did your spring quarter last quarter and yeah it'll be a b*tch. I did winter except took CS 106b instead of introsem it sucked.

I think that you can probably drop PHYSICS 41 and take CS instead, since you have the AP score required. Even if your physics teacher sucks, you can probably pick up the materials at your own pace. It is frankly the easiest in the whole physics 40 sequence. If CS 106A/B/X is a major requirement, I suggest that you clear it while you can before the engineering classes kick in in your sophomore year.

It's a doable schedule but a guarantee you that it will be the hardest you have ever worked in your life.

I would highly recommend you drop down your first quarter to three classes. Enjoy being on campus, do all the things that it is freshman do, there's no need to kill yourself with work.

That spring quarter will bet the real killer though. PWR takes up big chunks of time in intervals over the course of the quarter and it really sucks when a paper due date lines up with a midterm in another class. With three other classes this is almost guaranteed to happen to you. Besides, it'll be your first spring quarter there, and there will be a ton of stuff going on that you'll want to be a part of.
