Stanford decision emails

D applied RD too. I don’t think this means anything.

Wait… what do you mean by create? Did you enter your Application ID and then, it showed you this message or did click on “provide other identification” link?

I don’t think it means anything. It did it to me too… lol

I used the “provide other information” link. I am also pretty sure it doesn’t mean anything.

Oh… well I didn’t notice that… So I don’t think this means anything then.

yeah i put my ID# in and there was no match. i went around and did it without ID and the name has been ‘reserved’ for me.

i really don’t know nor do i trust this method :/

I got the reserved thing too but it is a crapshoot, read this:

Eligibility

There are two types of eligibility for a SUNet ID:

* University-eligible. Full-service SUNet IDs are available to current, registered students; and to regular and emeritus faculty and staff, including SLAC staff. Hospital staff are entitled to a base-level SUNet ID.

More about SUNet IDs for hospital staff…

  • Sponsored. Anyone who is not University-eligible who needs to use SUNet resources in support of legitimate University work can be sponsored for a SUNet ID.
o It is the responsibility of the person requesting the SUNet ID to find a sponsor, if one is required.
+ For free services, the sponsor must be regular Stanford faculty or staff.
+ For charged services, the sponsor must have requisitions authority in Oracle Financials for a current Stanford account.
o The sponsor is responsible for ensuring that the sponsored SUNet ID is used in support of the University’s mission, and in accordance with the University’s policies.
o Sponsorship is for a fixed period, and must be renewed if the SUNet ID is to remain active.

Sponsoring is for those who are not UNIVERSITY-ELIGIBLE.

Besides that, Stanford is gonna send the university ID to accepted students anyways, in their acceptance packets.

Wait. You don’t enter your personal information into that University ID section. You go to your email and copy your Stanford ID and fill it in. Does any of your screen shows the sponsorship through this method (not the “provide-other-identification” method)?

^^^I highly doubt it.

I think even officespace<3 created an account to get the reserved message instead of filling out his/her application ID#

ya this DID NOT work for EA.

the method that worked goes as follows: For EA, the applicants who Already HAD an axess account (from summer college) noticed that an application status bar had appeared on their axess. Eventually, around late nov or early dec, the status changed from “application complete” to a check mark or a red x. Every applicant that had a check mark was accepted, every applicant that had a red x was denied.

However, after numerous calls to the admissions office, the status bar disappeared…
