Stanford EA Chances

<p>Hi I am a junior going to the best public high school in the country (Thomas Jefferson High in Alexandria, VA). Please give me a feel for what my chances are for electrical engineering. I think I am well-rounded and I know that the essay is perhaps the most important component of the Stanford application.</p>

<p>Planning to apply EA</p>

<p>SAT I: 2280 (800 M, 770 V, 710 W)
SAT II: 800 Math IIc, 790 US History, 780 Chemistry</p>

<p>AP's: AP CompSci (5), AP US (5), AP Chemistry (5), AP Psych (5), planning to take 4 next year</p>

<p>GPA: 4.06 W/3.97 UW (my school doesn't weight)</p>

<p>Awards: Multiple Model UN Awards (including 1 gavel), Member of 1st Place Winners in Let's Get Real International Competition, 2nd Place in School Science Fair (did not get one at regional because my school has a limit on number of ppl who can win)
Extracurriculars: -2 years Junior Civitan International (Founder, Co-President 11, District Lt. Governor 12)
-Model UN (10, 11, 12)- several awards
-FBLA (10, 11, 12)- j-trader coordinator (like ebay), project manager of a collaboration between school newspaper and fbla (i was one of the pepole who proposed it)
-Math Team (10, 11, 12)- Qualified for AIME soph year but did not take AMC junior year because of a getting money in on time screwup
-German Honor Society (11, 12)- Treasurer(12)
-Crew (9, 10)- I sucked
-Coaching Youth Basketball (10 Assistant Coach, 11 Head Coach, 12 Head Coach)</p>

<p>Work Experience: I worked at Army Research Lab in 10th grade. From the fall of 11th grade on, I have worked at the Naval Research Lab including officially this summer. I have a paper that is in the process of being published. I hope to receive an apprentice award and I think I can get a strong rec from this mentor. By the time I have finnished high school, I will have worked on 3 physics projects w/ probably 2 paper publications. I hope this is my hook.</p>

i was just wondering how u took college courses in highschool. im in highschool and i was looking to take some college courses because my school doesnt offer AP classes. Did u just take night classes or sumthing??</p>

<p>I took college classes at George Mason University in the summer. I am a matriculant at GMU so I had one free course to take.</p>
