stanford ea LOL NOT!

isnt everyone excited for the ED decision date. I cant wait to find out either way. BTW im not hating on stanford, they just eat up all the forums for whatever reason. We gotta start showing some emory love

Tell me about it man. I really don't understand why so many great schools have empty boards and other, less prestigious schools have thousands of posts.

we gotta start using the what are my chances area to pull people into this forum, or the college admissions forum as well.

For any Emory student: Are you immediately given a log-in for Learnlink if you are accepted?

If you're accepted ED or by the scholar's program, yes. If you're accepted RD, I don't think you are given a LL name for a little bit.

newabc, if you are a student, what were your stats when you applied and which decision did you apply?

I'm a current student and a scholar. I applied RD but of course had to get my app in early to be eligible for the Scholars program. 1580 SAT, 4.0 uw, and came in with 40+ credit hours (from APs and college courses).

wow congradulations. which scholarship did you get (2/3, full tuition, everything)? anyways i was wondering if you knew exactly what they look at during the whole process since you had to go through the interview as well

Shortly after you get accepted to Emory they'll give you your learnlink name and password, but you won't get full access until you enroll.
I'm pretty sure that's the way it went for me...
Don't be so anxious about getting Learnlink access before you enroll, because there's not too much on it.
Also, you'll probably spend more time on webrooms before you come here, because that's where you'll be browsing profiles and looking for a roomate (did you guys know that you get to pick your room and roomate? well, you do! It's really nice. )
Any other questions for an Emory student?

yes acutuall,y what were your stats for admission into emory

Hmm, lets see if I can remember this (after you get in, you'll forget it all, I promise):

SAT: 700M/700V
SAT II: 700 Writing, 700 Math1C, 720 Math2C, 700 US History
(Yes, I know, all 700s, I can't seem to break the trend)
GPA: 4.01 W Don't remember UW Top 10%
5 APs
Really really strong extra curriculars (Probably what got me in) in theatre.

Wait, aren't those web rooms on Learnlink?

Tenacious,
Actually, Webrooms.com (or something to that effect) is a separate site that the Emory students use to make profiles of themselves and browse the profiles of other freshman to select thier roomates. You can talk to all of the incoming freshman, and you two decide together to be roomates. Then, you use webrooms to select which dorm, floor, room, and room type you'd like to have.
Learnlink, however, is used once you're here to host conferences for all of your classes, extra curricular clubs, etc. It's somewhat like a giant message board. Learnlink also has your e-mail, a calandar (if you choose to use it), a directory, etc.
Finally, OPUS is the site that you use to choose your classes, view your financial aid, application status, etc. It's all administrative, and I only go to OPUS once a semester when I register for my classes.
Anything else?
