i heard that most universities defer students if they don't make it in during early action. (they deny students only if they lied or plagiarized or something...)
but is that true for stanford? does stanford deny more students and defer less?

cuz my app isn't stellar, but i was gonna appply early cuz i figured the worst that could happen would be that i got deferred to regular...and that would kinda mean 2 chances at getting in...but now i'm not so sure

HELP PLEASe!!!

if you dont have a lot of confidence in your app, defintely go RD. Stanford is gonna be hard this year, but even so, the RD pool with be easier. ~70% chance youll get rejected outright if you go EA

stanford defers only a few people, accepts even fewer, but rejects A LOT (wayyy more than like harvard, etc)

how do you know that its a 70% chance...are there statistics somewhere?
here's my problem: the recs i sent out to teachers are all for early action so they probably already sent them in because the deadlines like..next week. so what can i do? is it possible to call stanford and change to regular or something? or is it too late :(

It shouldn't be too late, just call ASAP

People are making a big deal about them rejecting that many, but I'm sure if they reject you EA, then they are confident that they would reject you RD as well so I don't think it really matters which one you go. (Sorry about bad grammar)
