* Why Stanford? *

campus beautiful. right size, location, weather. campus life seems great.
it has an institute dedicated just for my research. Does it have an emphasis on undergrad research? Because that's what I would love.
I may be heading towards medicine, or medicinal research. Would undergrad Stanford be way to go?
even though its got an "above average" % of asians, and californians, in terms of opportunities to continue what i'm doing and get closer to a medical future will be very possible here.

Thanks all! I don't know much about American colleges, but I'll chance back and stuff.

Seems like you could make it, but it’s Stanford. They can reject whoever they want.

It’d be beneficial to raise your SAT, but for an International you have a really good resume. And your GPA is very good – assuming you get all 4s or 5s, you’re looking great. The Asian thing isn’t going to help much, though, unfortunately :frowning: Not being racist, but a lot (a lot) of qualified applicants are Asian. What country are you from? Regardless, Intl will definitely help.

Chance back if you can ^^

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/933115-chance-me-will-chance-back.html

I say definitely retake the SATs; that will help.

Honestly, your resume looks pretty solid, but it’s hard to tell. Stanford is just so unpredictable. I don’t think there’s much else you could do, save work on writing a really great essay and just keep up with your classes. Good luck!

If you’re into RSI, go, it will help. You are in propbably the most comptitive pool applying to Stanford as an Asian intnl. You will need to really raise scores and be able to seriously differentiate yourself through essays and recs.

Retake SATs.
Does your school have grade deflation or did you really get 3.89 GPA?

I’d say you’re in. Obviously, since it’s Stanford, there’s no telling–but getting second place Intel is pretty amazing. I’d say with killer essays and an SAT score that’s at least 50 points higher, Stanford is a match–which is better than 99.9% of other high-school seniors in the country.

Please chance me too!
