Stanford Early Action

I'm a senior and my academic record is okay but not really crazy good enough to get into every Ivy League... I have a decent GPA (4.0+ weighted), 34 act composite (first time, going to retake again to see if i can raise it), 3 SAT2's 700+ and some EC's.

Stanford is my first choice and I'm applying in case there is that 1% chance that I get accepted. I took the SAT once and didn't study for it, and I regret it. I made a 2070 I think. I'm planning on taking it again in October but I saw on Stanford's site that Early Action apps are due November 1. If I retake the SAT in Oct, those score won't be out early enough to submit to Stanford, right? I'm unsure if I should try early action with a 2070 SAT or wait to submit the retake (hopefully with studying etc I'll get 2250+). I know that I don't have outstanding stats (unlike some other people on this forum, makes me sad =[....) but I was wondering which option would give me a better chance.

A 34 is incredibly good. In my opinion, you could submit that and not even worry about the SAT.

Regardless, [the answer to your question is yes, you could take the SAT in October and the school would consider it before making a decision.](http://www.stanford.edu/dept/uga/application/deadlines/index.html)

oh wow, i completely missed that page on their site. thanks. And your right, I could just submit the act score
