<p>For Stanford, I know they require 9 in. X 12 in. envelopes for teacher recommendations and secondary school reports. </p>
<p>Do other top colleges (Ivy League, MIT, Caltech, UChicago, etc.) also require 9 X 12 envelopes? If so, which ones do? If not, are bigger envelopes preferred anyway? Would regular 4.125 X 9.5 envelopes look "unprofessional"? </p>
<p>Yearly, the topic of Stanford’s large envelope request comes up. They seem to be the only ones who request that. I guess their office workers can’t take the time to unfold letters before scanning them… LOL</p>
