Stanford EPGY

Has anyone attended or applied to this institute? If so, how was it?

If I may add, what is it? How can you apply?

Check it out here...

"The Education Program for Gifted Youth (EPGY) at Stanford University is a continuing project dedicated to developing and offering multimedia computer-based distance-learning courses. Combining technical and instructional expertise, EPGY provides high-ability students of all ages with an individualized educational experience, optimized in both pace and content. Through EPGY, students have access to courses in a variety of subjects at levels ranging from kindergarten through advanced-undergraduate. Since its inception over 50,000 students from 35 countries have taken courses from EPGY."

They also have summer programs for high school and middle school students.

I took this back in the old days... 2003? (I think.)

I loved it.

How long does it take to complete the class (semester or own pace)
also, do you get credit on the university level by participating in the program?

It was amazing. Creative Writing '05 here. So kind of a while ago. It was honestly absolutely life-changing. The whole experience may have been magnified, however, given that I was a young and impressionable freshman at the time. Ha.

There are no credits offered for the program; you go for the sake of learning.
