<p>I noticed that stanford provides all of its students with symantec antivirus 10.1 Is this the same thing as norton antivirus? I'm using Norton Internet Security 2005 right now and was wondering if I should switch to the symantec 10.1 because my subscription is about to expire. Is 10.1 the latest version available?</p>
<p>Not sure about that. Symantec is the company that puts out Norton, so while it may not be the exact same software package, I'm sure you can expect a similar level of funcitonality and protection. If I were in your shoes, I would hold off on resubscribing until I got to campus, then I would ask my RCC about it. They'll be able to tell you exactly what it does and does not include and how to get it up and running. And just a tip, don't ask them within the first 3 days after moving in as a guarentee you they'll be swamped with people trying to figure out how to get their wireless Internet up and running.</p>
