congrats you guys! your hard work paid off!!

hahaha congrats guys!!! welcome to the class of 2013. :)

Congrats to those who have been offered admissions! Good luck in making your decisions. The financial aid is great, and people coming off the waitlist are given the same consideration for FA as others. My S absolutely loved his freshman year at Stanford, and is still there! He is taking 10 qtr hrs this summer, and got into one of the campus apartment residences. He has a full kitchen, his own room, and 2 other roommates. The academics were challenging, but he worked hard, did well and made lots of incredible friends – this was a guy who didn’t really have friends in high school because he didn’t have much in common with anyone at his small school.

Congrats, again!

thanks guys! haha unneverknow, i def stayed away from this board for a while and had given up all hope. i think i’m sort of in shock still. congrats to you! i’m so happy you got in too! :]

only thing is, they told me i’m an international student in my admit letter and therefore not eligible for FA… when i applied as a perm. resident and have been admitted to other schools w extremely generous FA as a non international student. i’m really hoping they won’t rescind their admission due to the mix up… and that FA pulls through :/

congrats everyone :)

^darling, they won’t rescind you…just call your admissions rep or the admissions office and explain to them about the mix-up.

and again, congrats on getting into stanford! i really hope you will go!

^ thanks! i really really really hope that they won’t rescind me because of that! i think i would cry ><. I’m giving myself some time to calm down and think about this rationally, but at this point, def leaning towards Stanford. :)

I got in, but they counted me as an international student even though I’m a green carder–> no aid. Wut? But yeah, I’m going to Yale. :)

^ omg. are you in the same position as I am in? Green card, counted as international?

wow. i think they just majorly screwed up the system or something. i hope they fix this asap and doesn’t affect anything tho!

@lunar_years- Congratulations on your decision! Yale is a very good place to be!
@darling- even if you were international, this would still be a baffling case. Stanford does have need-based aid for internationals, it’s just the admission process that’s not need-blind. There definitely has been a mix up of some sort. Def call in on Monday to clarify your citizenship status, and tell them to give you your money!!!

Good luck!

uneverknow- What did I tell you??? : ) Congratulations, and I’ll see you at Stanford!!!

:D Definitely!

uneverknow: haha i’m planning on doing just that did they tell you how long/when you will get your FA package?

and seriously, i am SO HAPPY you made it. If I hadn’t made it, I would just be happy that you made it! but how suprising, we made it together ;)

hahaha you took the words right out of my mouth! It’s exciting enough to get in, but getting in alongside wonderful people like you is just crazy!

They told me to check it online by the 24th, and I guess I’ll receive a paper copy in the mail soon. Once you create ur SUNet ID, you can use that to “Access Axess” and check all your stuff, including FA. But since it takes a little while for that to get activated, you can’t check it before the 23rd/24th. Hope this helps!

Waitlisted students get the same consideration for FA, right?

yep. Lets just hope it pulls through for us

I hope so! Vandy gave me a lot of aid, so I hope it’s the same or similar from Stanford.

<33333333

I’m so excited you guys lol.

Yayy! My rep emailed me back, he said he’s notified FA office and the admission director of the mix up and he’ll email me later with more information when they’re getting FA sorted out. So idk when i’ll get my award letter hopefully soon so i can officially commit!

i really am so excited for all of us i wonder how many ppl they took off the WL this time?

btw, what is the dress code like at Stanford for going to classes? Pretty relaxed? I want to kno if it’s okay for me to attend class in sweatpants ;)

^I’m sure that’s fine. I attended some classes there, and it was all what I (from the midwest) would consider normal. So: jeans, t-shirts, collared shirts, athletic pants, whateber. The only class that wasn’t was when everyone had a presentation and they were dressed semi-formal :)

darling - I just got my finaid and they offered me a lot! Not as much as Vandy, but enough that I can attend. So I’m sure they will pull through for you as well. Good luck, hope to see you there!
