Stanford for Graduate school

I am interested in doing an MS in Aero/Astro at Stanford. I have heard that since Stanford does not provide aid for MS students it is fairly easy to get in. Can anyone confirm this? I know the overall acceptance rate for Stanford grad is 30%. Does anyone know the admissions statistics for Aero/Astro?

Thanks

I've heard the same thing about MS admissions at Stanford. I also know of a few people who got admitted without funding in the circumstance you mentioned. I know this is anecdotal evidence, but I still thought I'd contribute.

MS engineering students get little to no funding support at nearly any top university in the country - Stanford is no exception.

We know this. The question though is are the admissions standards significantly lower for the MS program.

The people I mentioned above applied for funding and planned to continue to the PhD program. They were admitted without funding to the MS program. This seems to point to the fact that they are were not good enough for Stanford to really want them but were good enough to pay their own way (and support those who were good enough). This happens everywhere, but I have heard of it happening much more often at Stanford. Again this is only my experience, I'd be interested to hear some other people's opinions on whether or not this is true.
