Stanford GPA recalculation

Hi, I’m a HS sophomore and I recently started researching colleges. I came across Stanford in CA and it really interests me, I’ve done quite a bit of research on it.

What I couldn’t find is how it recalculates the GPA. Our school grades on a 7-point scald and I know most don’t use that. Our numerical grades are shown on report cards.

So does Stanford not recalculate at all or do they convert it to 10-pts or what? Any info would be helpful

I think if your school has ranking, ranking might be more important than GPA because this allows them to compare you with other applicants without worrying about grade inflation.

And if you are ranked top few in a competitive school, even if you get 51% average, they know that you are a top top student and knows that your academic ability is no less than someone with perfect gpa from a less competitive school.
