Stanford has NOTextended RD deadline to Jan. 15

Okay they didn't. But, if your counsellor hasn't accepted your CommonApp invite, and didn't upload your transcript, can you do that after the winter break is done? Apparently, they expect you to submit your CommonApp supp and Stanford supp by Jan.1, does this include the transcript? Thanks!

By the way, does anyone know if Stanford looks at January SAT scores? I think there policy is if it comes in time before they review your app, they'll look at it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

From their website:

It is unlikely that scores from tests taken after our deadlines will arrive in our office in time for our review process. We will certainly review any scores we receive (even if they arrive after the deadline) but we cannot promise to delay the review of an application in anticipation of scores that will arrive at a later date.

Last year, I called and the admissions officer told me I was free to fax it to them (through my high school, with school documentation) so that it arrived faster than mail (though I still had to send it by mail) and that they might consider my scores. I would suggest calling them to make sure to see if that is possible again this year.

Wow. what a misleading, manipulative title

Can a mod please change the title.

Contrary to what you may think, a misleading title such as this actually deters people from providing helpful responses.

Not to mention, someone in a hurry could easy glance at the title and believe it.

haha I thought this was funny

This thread should be taken down or the title altered. Applicants could actually believe it, especially since Stanford up the decision date for SCEA by a few days … which was believable, since one could log on to their web site and find the same info as was posted on CC. Still …

Yes, I agree. While the OP’s intentions were not malevolent, someone could get seriously mislead by the title.

crap, sorry guys. I didn’t mean to mislead anyone, just wanted people’s attention, because I already asked this question before and never got an answer. I didn’t think anyone would actually take my word for it, and if they did, they would at least read the post. Sorry, no bad intentions at all. Will someone accept my apology, and tell me what Stanford has said about January SAT scores? Also, their policies on Transcript stuff and Recommendations after the deadline? Thanks!

Yes very misleading for people who are on the fence with the essays.

what the…

chesscamp, i already told you my experience last year about the policy (post #2). safest way is always to call and ask.

This title should be changed asap

I am just looking at the title now so I don’t know if it was changed. I do see NOT in caps.

This is the only point I want to make in general. If you see a post (or title) that you think is in error or objectionable, just click on “Report Problem Post”. It is almost always taken care of within 24 hours. However, if you just post your objection on the thread, the moderators do not see it.
