Stanford is my #1 but...

I won't have time to take any more SAT IIs before the SCEA deadline.

I know that SAT IIs are only recommended, but I also know that I can get some wicked-good scores (700+ in 3 new subjects) in November. Should I wait until I can send my new SAT IIs and semester grades (no need to show upward trend), or should I submit my application early with my current scores (three between 740-770)?

you already have three satII's in the 740+ range? i'd say that's pretty good. what subjects are they? i know stanford recommends math IIC at least, and one other subject. so i'd say go for the SCEA.

AT Subject Test Scores
We strongly recommend that you submit official results of two SAT Subject Tests: Math Level 2, if your math background has adequately prepared you for this, and one subject test of your own choosing. These tests can often be helpful supplements to a student's testing profile.

i doubt semester grades will help you THAT much in you change to RD. i'd say the three extra SATII's may help you more than semester grades, but not enough to cause a switch to RD since you already have 3 above 740.

Thanks. My second-guessing might just be a by-product of stress. But advice is still welcome. First three included Math IIC.

I would say go for the application now if Stanford is your number 1 choice. Your stats are fine.

You should send your scores now. They're already great :) but if you take it in November, it won't be too late to send them again b/c they won't start reviewing application until late November. Once you get them, ask the admission office if you can still send it. I did that when I applied SCEA for Nov. SAT scores and they said it was fine.

my vote is for waiting.... bringing your B game for e.a. doesn't make sense if you can wait and bring your A game in a few months. and, stanford keeps the majority of spots open for r.d.

Your scores are good enough. Bringing them up a few points will not affect your chances. If Stanford is your first choice, apply EA.

Be happy where you are. If you take too many more it will look like you are overly concerned with test taking. You want to at least appear as if you have better things to do on saturdays.

If Stanford is your top choice, apply early and if you feel like it, take SAT2s again in Nov and send the scores. they MIGHT look at them, or if they don't and you get deferred because of the scores you already have (NOT LIKELY TO HAPPEN) you might get deferred and then you've already sent your scores for them to look at later! (that's what I did)

gosh, 740-770 is fine
