@tiggerdaddy Hello sir, thanks to your great advices, I have been contemplating why I had motivations of going to Stanford. I do not want to publicly post my story and details on the internet. Therefore, I will be really grateful if you could review my stats and motivations, and recommend me a school that would be good fit for me. I believe that you have a busy schedule as a great man, but I would be absolutely grateful if you could give me a short feedbacks, and I am ready to wait until you give me some advices.
I am really grateful for meeting such a great person like you.
@yucca10 I appreciate your heart-warming encouragement. Thank you, have a rest of the good day:)
I thought OP stated another reason than warm weather why she wanted to attend Stanford: more collaboration among students which I tend to think is true. You sound like a very nice person OP. My kid shared your views about Stanford (he interned at the Stanford student newspaper during his freshman summer so he’s familiar with some aspects of school), he liked the interdisciplinary study approach, their great language center, BOSP study abroad and internship opportunities. My advice is read opinion articles in their student newspaper to get a good feel on the student culture. Apply but have decent safeties. Just focus on describing yourself clearly, and the school will decide whether you fit the school. You don’t have to explain why you will be a good fit for Stanford. My kid didn’t but Stanford must have thought he was a good fit because he got in REA last year. Took a gap year to study another language abroad; really glad he took a gap year to improve in this language. Hopefully, he can reach advanced level at Stanford. To be frank, I thought he would be a great fit at Pomona or Rice but he wanted a large school. Good alumni support for internship and jobs there. Yeah, good weather most of times except for some drizzles, not as cold as SF area. Shoot me your resume. I can give you a short advice since I think you are a nice person.
