Stanford is the most Selective University in the US

notice that the title tag on the front page of College Confidential for harvard is wrong and has been wrong for the past 5 years. it is not in fact the “The most selective university in the U.S.”

Stanford has been the most selective university in the US for 5 years.

admins should fix that.

You mad about that?

Most selective university in US - Alice Lloyd College, Pippa Passes, KY. 4% acceptance.

To be fair both Harvard and Stanford are the two most selective and desirable colleges in the country (and the world). Determining which one is the most selective or the most desirable is futile.

Spitting hairs, imo. All the tippy tops are miserably tough to get into. I hope some kids don’t think there’s some special badge for getting into one college that’s a percentage point or two statistically more competitive. Wrong focus.

Stanford can fit in a few more freshmen (4% more) but gets about 16% more apps. Sure, the percents of admits to apps will differ.

Stanford’s admit rate is 4.65% Harvard’s is over 5%.

Stanford, not Harvard, is the most selective University in the US.

admins of CC should correct the title tag on the front page off CC.“The most selective university in the U.S.”

at one point it was correct… for the past 5 years it’s clearly wrong.

MODERATOR’S NOTE:

Agreed. I see no value in debating this statistical insignificance. Closing thread.
