stanford ivy league

i don't think so, but my friend doesn't beleive me.

*** according to my research there are 8 ivys, and none of them on the west coast anyway..

does anybody here know for sure, whether or not stanford is an ivy league school?

100% sure. No

it's a common misconception that it is an ivy league school.

Why don't you just tell your friend to google it?

It violates the first of the Ivy TEN COMMANDMENTS:

"1. Thou shall not pay salaries to your athletes."

ask your friend to check the IVY league and Pac-12 standings ... no Stanford in the IVY league ... but it is certainly one of the best schools in the country!

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/standings

first off, why are you posting this again ilovecalifornia? i feel these types of threads (is stanford/duke/mit/caltech an ivy league?) are inane, and eventually turn into a school A vs school B affair

secondly, byerly, u forgot that stanford also violates two more of the ivy's ten commandments
2. Thou shalt not have a successful athletics program that can attain a NACDA Director's Cup for 11 years in a row
3. Thou shalt not entitle its students to a warm, happy environment to learn in

I agree that environment and setting are often the key factor when common admits choose one elite over another.

http://www.epodunk.com/top10/colleges/index.html

often more important than combined college enrollment, population, median age, per capita income, and public library expenditures, are weather and unquantifiable measures, such as quality of life and atmoshpere (laidback vs anxiety-arousing)

juzam, i'm posting it again, because i couldn't find my original post, so i figured i was multi-tasking at the time and probably forget to post it....how about you get off my back, bc ur entire post was inane. at least i had a question, and got it answered, you need to remove the stick from ur butt and take threads less seriously.

thank you to everyone else, i knew i was right! = )

sigh, ilovecalifornia

its interesting that you couldn't find your original post, as the reason i posted MY post was that it was odd to see two posts on top of one another that both said "stanford ivy league"
to my surprise, they were both created by you!

also, you need to stop using the "take threads less seriously" excuse when you can't think of a legitimate rhetort
posting something online is the same thing as posting something in public, and everybody has a right to react to something they see in public (especially if it is ridiculous) in whatever way they want
