Stanford Knight-Hennessy and the graduate program

Hello,
I am considering applying for Knight-Hennessy scholarship at Stanford. I understand that is is possible to be awarded the scholarship and not be accepted into the graduate program (and vice versa).

I don’t believe that to be the case.

My question is: Does applying to the KHS affect (weaken or strengthen) the chances of being admitted to the grad program?

Neither.

So are they evaluated completely independently or does one bear on the other?

It is my understanding that application reviews start out simultaneous, and then once teh the grad/professional school prepares a list of potential acceptees, the scholarship program conducts mores detailed reviews.

(Hint: in other words, if interviewed for KH, grad school acceptance is ~90%.)
